Sony Ericsson Targets Female Buyers

Women’s Tennis Association global title sponsor Sony Ericsson will incorporate “bluejacking” technology into its activation at the Sony Ericsson Open, which will be held March 25 to April 5 in Key Biscayne, FL. The technology, available on Bluetooth-enabled devices, will allow subscribers to receive player statistics, scores and wallpapers of the players throughout the tournament.

Honda Makes Hybrid Connections At Sundance

As a follow up to the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Honda last month activated its first-ever sponsorship of the Sundance Film Festival. From January 15-25, the presenting sponsor and official automobile of the festival unleashed a fleet of 44 branded Hondas across Park City, Utah. Honda 2010 Insight hybrids were used as the official transportation for talent, filmmakers and VIPs attending daily film premieres. Five more Insight hybrids were on display throughout the festival’s screening venues and at festival headquarters.

Subaru Wraps 'Share the Love' Campaign at Chicago Auto Show

Subaru of America, Inc. presented the $5 million raised during its "Share the Love" campaign to the participating charities at the opening of the Chicago International Auto Show.

Sony Promos New VAIO With NYC Stunt

To show off its streamlined, 1.4-pound Sony VAIO P Series notebook, Sony on Jan. 30 conducted a mass freeze in New York City’s Grand Central Terminal. Ten female brand ambassadors stood frozen, holding the sleek computers in their hands as commuters stopped and interacted with the women and their machines. The mannequin theme is a tie-in to the product’s functional and fashionable attributes. The stunt was reenacted in other New York hotspots including bars on the Lower East Side and restaurants in SoHo.

Tours: Volvo Hits The Road

Volvo this month revved up its From Sweden with Lov Tour, an interactive traveling experience touting its new XC60 to existing customers and prospects. The tour expands on last year’s Lov tour, which visited 54 dealerships. The success of that initial run has spawned two separate legs, which will run concurrently through the South and West through March and make stops in more than 85 cities.

Netflix, Acura, IFC, AMC Among Spirit Awards Sponsors

As a sponsor of the 2009 Film Independent Spirit Awards show, IFC and AMC will co-sponsor a hospitality tent located outside of the entrance to the Main Awards tent. The tent will feature refreshments for guests and plasma screens running Spirit Award show coverage from both networks.
