Toyota Motor Sales promoted its vehicles that run on hybrid technology with a tour incorporating a mix of environmentally friendly elements.
The company worked with Salt Lake City, UT-based agency 3form, which manufactures and provides eco-friendly materials, on the build of the Highway to the Future: Mobile Hybrid Experience tour. Toyota incorporated 40 percent recycled acoustic ceiling tiles into the build and eco-friendly wall cover and flooring laminates. The company also worked with the National Arbor Day foundation to plant more than 50,000 trees in an effort to offset the carbon emissions generated by the 53-foot double expandable tractor-trailer transporting the tour. The approach underscores the environmentally friendly objective of hybrid technology.
The exhibit itself featured four interactive areas focusing on the various types of alternative fuels, what attendees could do to improve the environment, a simulated hybrid driving experience, and current hybrid technology options.
“The idea is to educate consumers about the… environmental issues, the issues with oil and oil dependency, and then offer them a chance to discover what hybrids are all about,” Doug Coleman, Toyota’s advanced technology vehicle manager, said.
